Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at School groundson 15th August, 2024. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Mr. VaidhyanathY M, Assistant Executive Engineer,Gescom,Manvi and superior of Loyola Institution Fr. Leo Periera along with all the heads of the units initiated the flag hoisting and all sang the National Anthem to pay homage to the nation. They also garlanded the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and B. R. Ambedkar.

The program started with a prayer song by the students of Loyola School. Then the gathering was welcomed by a student of Loyola PU College. To begin the celebration of Independence Day, school students representing the four color groups marched and paid respect to the national flag.

The chief guest was introduced by a representative from LCSC, which was followed by a speech by the chief guest which highlighted the importance of student’s participation in such events. Then the chief guest was felicitated by the heads of each unit.

To set the tone of the event Loyola PU College students sang a patriotic song. After that, we had two students from Loyola and Xavier schools who spoke about their point of view on Independence Day. We also had two dances from each school to show patriotism.

Then we had the presidential address by the superior of Pannur-Manvi mission Fr. Leo Pereira SJ, who told the students to have hope always and show gratitude towards the ones who have sacrificed for their future. And also to look for opportunities to grow. The program ended with a vote of thanks given by a student of Loyola Degree College.
